Selecting the Right Grip

“How do I select the right grip for my Chiappa Rhino?”

Choose Your Pistol

This is easy. Do you have a .44 Magnum? If yes, then go to Grip 44.

Do you have a .357 Magnum/9mm/10mm/.40 (basically not the .44 Magnum)? Then there are a couple more choices.

Choose Your Style

There are two primary styles of grips: standard and Type 2. The standard grip incorporates a beavertail, which greatly assists creating that lock-in grip and minimizing recoil and muzzle flip. The Type 2 grip deletes the beavertail and provides increased trigger reach and access to the hammer/cocker. If there is a question or concern regarding trigger reach due to smaller hands or shorter fingers, the Type 2 is recommended.

Choose Your Application

The Tactical grips and Grip 44 account for several shooting applications: duty, competition, casual, or concealed carry (yes, we understand most of you are not intending to or are currently carrying a .44 Magnum down or on the side of your pants). In addition to that, grips especially for Concealed Carry are available. While these grips are shorter and conceal much better, the overall grip surface is only slightly shorter, as that surface is shifted and raised. Those with large and even extra-large hands can still use these grips. The Concealed Carry grips also incorporate finger grooves, making for an extremely comfortable, contoured, and secure grip.

Choose Your Color

There are several colors and color combinations available. Black is always popular, of course, but check out current and new offerings that incorporate stripes in red, Zombie Green, gray; or where colors are inverted; or where three colors are added for a truly custom and futuristic look, sure to get the attention of on-lookers. That same attention will then become amazement if you allow those on-lookers to actually then shoot your Rhino.

Assemble

This may be the simplest and fastest grip change. With your 5/32” or 4mm hex wrench in hand, remove the old grip, grip screw, and grip screw washer. Your new grip comes with its own red printed grip screw washer; choose which you like. Slide the new grip onto the pistol, insert the new grip screw and your selected grip screw washer, and tighten.
